There are three different ways a person can set up a business here in Singapore. The first is as a private limited company, the second is as a limited liability partnership, and the third is a a sole owner of the business. I knew that I needed to learn all about company incorporation in Singapore and determine which of the three that I wanted to have for my own company. That meant going online and finding a company that helps other companies get set up, so I would know exactly which route was better for me.
The first thing I did was learn about the three different incorporation types. I knew immediately that I did not want the limited liability partnership, because that was not retaining complete control. I knew that it would be riskier for myself, but I just did not want to have any partners, even if I had the majority of control. I wanted all of it, so I moved on to the private limited company. While this was better, it was still not what I wanted, which is why I settled on the sole proprietorship. This was not only the riskiest but also the simplest to set up.
The next thing I did was look at the different packages that this company has for starting companies. There is a lot of paperwork involved, and I knew that I needed this help. I was happy when I saw that I would just need the Quickstart package, which was the least expensive one for me. I would get the help that I needed with the initial setup, including having my company name reserved, the fee paid, my profile and constitution for my company done, and more. I am glad I did such careful research, because I got the best company to do this for me at a very reasonable rate.
It’s getting to be summertime again soon and that means trips to the pool for myself and my daughter. I already started looking for laser hair removal in Singapore because the bathing suits are getting pretty ridiculous. While I’m no prude and not tied to the idea of going to the pool dressed in a one piece, or some sort of bathing dress women used to wear back in the 1920s for that matter, I still want myself and my daughter to look good. Unfortunately both of us have been cursed with an abundance of unsightly body hair thanks to bad genes.
There’s nothing worse than going out in the sun in a bathing suit with unsightly hair. It’s horrifying actually. I don’t like seeing it on other people so of course both myself and my daughter plan to do something about it. I looked around online for a solution and noticed pretty quickly that the old waxing method seems to have given way to using a laser process to get rid of unseemly hair. This process sounded like a great idea as the wax method really is unpleasant and causes a lot of pain. I used to dread going in for one of those treatments.
So we found a place that does this stuff and made appointments. I have to say technology is wonderful. I didn’t feel any pain at all. My daughter said she felt some quick twinges but that they weren’t painful in the least. I can also say this treatment seems to do a better job. There are no red marks at all after having it done. We’re now both ready to hit the pool and enjoy the sun. I’m not looking for a skimpier swimsuit, but I’m not dreading at all wearing the one that I picked out!
I do business in Singapore and eventually decided to employ the services of foto88 corporate gifts as I felt I wasn’t promoting my business properly. You can do business anywhere in the world, and many things can be different, but in the end you still need to get the word out about your company. You can advertise through the media, of course, but that can be expensive and time consuming and it doesn’t always work especially if you’re operating in a foreign country and don’t understand the culture as well as you should. I chose a more traditional route.
What I chose to do is use gifts. We’ve all seen them in America and other places. It’s where you get pens with your company’s name on them, or stuffed animals, or binders, or coolers. There are many trinkets and items you can buy with your company’s name and/or logo on them that helps promote your business to other companies and consumers. The company I went with offers a huge assortment of items you can give away, and it’s not an expensive process at all. I went with some pens, of course, but also some clothing and memory sticks.
I give them away to anyone who comes in to do business with me, and I also leave them around the city so people can grab them for free. It’s always fun to see someone in the street wearing a hat with your logo on it. You would think people would be used to getting this stuff and not think much about it, but you’re wrong. I always get a smile when I give someone one of these items. People like to get free stuff even if they don’t seem to have a use for it. I’ve noticed sales going up since I’ve started using these items.
My grandparents often talked about their different ailments openly when I was a kid. I would chuckle when one or both of them would see a friend in a shop or on the street, who wanted to know how they were doing, and they would say things like “My hip is not too good,” or My sciatica is acting up again.” Then, all of them would form a group and discuss every little health ailment. Little did I know back then that I would have arthritis and many more things, leading me to need cold laser in South Surrey myself. I wish that my grandparents had been born in a time that would allow them to get help with their own arthritis, too.
I sometimes wonder what it would have been like to live 50 or 100 years ago when the medical community still had so much to learn compared to today. Did people just accept that many different types of help were not available or did they wish things weren’t so rough back then? My grandmother and grandfather never mentioned it, and I never heard them say that, one day, things would be really different in the future. Mostly, they got by with the help with pain relievers, which did not always work. This was especially true on days where the weather outside was cold and rainy.
I learned about cold laser from my doctor. He referred me to a clinic that does it. I thought it would feel very cold during the treatment, but it does not. I actually really liked it. I wondered how long it would be before it started lessening my chronic pain, and the answer is that there was definitely a noticeable change pretty quickly. That prompted me to keep up with my treatments, which have been very helpful.
Up here in Canada the winters are a whole lot different than when I worked in the States down south. The cold sure can wreak havoc on tools I use on the job too. Plastics become much more brittle and crack more easily in the cold. Batteries need to be recharged more often too. The cold robs them of peak efficiency. I rely on power tools on the job every day. I seem to be able to go through the entire summer without breaking any power tools. However, in the winter, I am buying power tool parts to fix the drills, saws and other things I use on the job.
I still have a couple of tools that use cords too. The unlimited power is nice. Power tools with cords are fine for something you use at a fixed location such as a circular saw. I even have a big drill that plugs in. It has a lot of power that no battery-powered drill can match. I use it for some tough drilling through masonry. It is old. My dad gave it too me, and I can still find parts to fix it. Some of the motors on power tools still have brushes that eventually wear out. They are user-replaceable on many models. A popular brand of rotary tool tells you how to replace the brushes for their brand in the instruction manual. You know you have either kept a tool a long time or use it a lot if you need to replace the brushes on the motor.
I go to a website that sells power tool parts. You can just put in your part number and order what you need. Most manuals that come with the tools have a parts schematic you can refer to for any part that makes up the tool from the motor to the tiniest screw. It is easy to fix most power tools, and being able to get parts makes it even easier.
Everyone in my family had really nice eyelashes but me. Even my brothers had nicer eyelashes than me! While their lashes were thick and full, mine were very thin. When I would look at some pictures that were taken of me before I had a Singapore eyelash extension procedure done, it even looked like I did not have any at all! I knew that I had to do something because my self esteem was taking a beating. I thought that I would just do some fake eyelashes, but they honestly looked worse than my own thin lashes.
I went online to find some suggestions elsewhere, because I knew that I could not be the only person in this particular boat. That is how I found out about the Singapore treatment where eyelashes are extended in a number of different ways. There was the cluster lash, the lash by lash, the sexy lash and more. I thought that I might like the Cirrus Lash because it involves attaching multiple lashes to an existing lash, which would make the finished product filled with a lot of volume. I was not sure I wanted to make such a dramatic change though, which is why I decided to go with something a little more mild.
Instead of attaching between three to six lashes to my own individual eyelashes, I decided to go with the procedure where only one lash would be attached to each of my own lashes. The finished look is nothing short of amazing. I love the thickness and length, and I am no longer embarrassed about taking pictures with my family now. My eyelashes may not be natural like theirs, but mine look every bit as good as theirs does. You can’t even tell theirs apart from mine, which is just a testament to the procedure I had done!
It is so strange how your body changes over the years as you age. Things you never thought about changing suddenly change, and then you find yourself not feeling very good about yourself. One example of this is teeth. I always saw people’s hair and skin changing as they age, but your teeth can change, too. This is what happened to me. I felt much more down about the way I smile than anything else. Getting Invisalign and also having my teeth whitened really helped me to get back to a happy mouth again.
Everyone knows that your teeth can be stained by things like tea and soft drink overtime. I am a very big tea drinker. I drink both the hot and cold kind. They are my two favorite drinks besides soft drinks. So, my teeth have always had trouble with looking stained. But the older I got, the worse it looked. I wanted to change that because it really made me older. And then, over time, my teeth became very crooked. This was something that I never expected to happen. My teeth always looked so nice and straight. But they became so crooked that they were a distraction for me and others. A distraction for me because I could feel how crooked they were in my mouth. A problem for other people because they were distracted by it. It was very odd. I needed to fix that.
I thought I would be stuck with a mouth full of metal braces, but my dentists introduced me to Invisalign and how they are perfect for older adults. First, he worked on making my teeth whiter, and that provided a really welcome change. Then, he got me fitted for the new system that would put my teeth back into place. I would say it took about 10 years off my face when the work was all done!
When my husband and I purchased an eight room office building in Manhattan for our business, we knew that we were going to have to make some upgrades to it. We did not mind that because we were able to get the building rather cheap, and we knew that we could do the majority of the work. We could handle the painting and cleaning, so we would just need to find a company that does AC installation in New York City and then worry about the floors last. I knew that we needed to find the right company to install the AC system before we even did any of the other work because of how hot it was inside the building.
There were a couple of window units, but they were so old and I honestly did not even want to turn them on. I knew that we could have went the same route and saved some money, but I wanted to have central air throughout the building. I wanted us to be comfortable as well as our workers and clients, and that was truly the only answer to make sure they were.
I started reading about Air Repair, which is a company that installs air conditioners as well as repairs them. I was really glad that they had so much information on their website about commercial buildings, because it is definitely different than what I was expecting. I thought it would be the same as our house, but rooftop units are better for commercial buildings. I called them up and scheduled an appointment for them to come out and install a new unit, and they were able to do it quicker than I could have hoped for. Now that it is done, we can focus on getting everything cleaned and painted so we can move in and start helping customers again.
A lot of my friends have fancy word processor programs on their computers and tablets, but I decided to look around to see if I could find a free word processor that was functional and easy to use rather than spend a small fortune on one that has so many features on it that I knew I would only use a very small fraction of them. I just didn’t believe in paying for something that I would not be using 100 percent. While I did need a word processor, I did not need all the extra things that come with a word processing program that makes the price jump even higher.
I went online and did a search to find a free processing program, and that is how I found Write! I knew as soon as I saw it that it was the perfect program for me. I liked that has a very basic look about it. I don’t need a program telling me to fix something with every word that I type into it, which is what it seems like some of my friends’ programs do. I didn’t want suggestions on active or passive voice, or a number of other things as well.
I just wanted to be able to type out my thoughts on my blog with a basic word processing program. That is exactly what Write! offers to people who use their program. There are no distractions when using it, and I am able to focus on my words instead of fixing things as they pop up. Some people like that, but it just makes me lose my train of thought. I have been using this word processing program for several months now, and I think my friends are actually wishing they would have looked around before buying their programs too!
I have been interested in environmentally friendly and sustainable technologies and industry practices for about a decade, but I haven’t done much to advocate about the matter in the past. I am thinking about making a blog that is devoted to the topic, so I am going to have to do research for the subject. I have been reading about a Mr. Chagoury who has had a role in implimenting some green technologies in Nigeria, which is an interesting topic to me. I am very interested in the progress that is being made in third-world countries towards switching to greener technologies.
I know that in a vast majority of said country, the progress is going to be very limited, to non-existant, and further, the prospects for such a switch are likely to be pretty bleak. But that is not unexpected, because a lot of these countries simply have much more pressing issues on their hands, to be able to devote many resources towards switching to environmentally friendly technologies. Though, with the agreement that was made in Paris recently, there will hopefully be a much more noticeable and sustained effort towards protecting the environment across all of the world’s countries. I don’t know many countries actually signed the agreement off of the top of my head, but I do know that it was a lot.
I am going to read some more information about the individual that I mentioned above, and his work in Nigeria. I want to see how much of an impact it is actually having on how Nigeria is contributing to global warming and other causes of man-made environmental impact within the area. I also want to take a look at the efforts of other countries in the area, and compare them to what is being done in Nigeria.
The job is pretty simple in some ways, but it is not something that you can do with no thinking. The people that I have been working for the past month are home movers in Singapore and obviously they get paid to safely take people’s stuff where they want it to be. That means you do not break stuff and you do not leave dents in it or stuff like that. When you take stuff out of the truck and bring it to the new place, they expect it all to be in the same shape that it was in when it was picked up. In fact they do not really trust me to do any of the thinking and they are really particular about how things are done. For example if you move a table you pick it straight up, because you do not want to drag the legs across the floor and catch them on obstacles.
The really amazing thing when you do this stuff is to see how much stuff can be packed into a truck by a person who really knows what he is doing. It would take me two trucks to get as much stuff in as they can get in one truck. Of course no one would be happy with me doing this job, at least with no one to supervise it. That is because you can not just sling stuff in the truck and expect it to arrive in pristine condition. You have to know exactly what you are doing when you put something here or there. The master technique is what they call building a shelf. That obviously means that you find things upon which more things can be placed on top of. However you have to use packing materials like blankets to keep them from moving about.
As an artist, I take a lot of work from people who want specific things created for them. Often I work with clay, but sometimes I use metal in my creations. One person commissioned me to make a 12 foot metal statue of them using abstract ideas. For my metal works, I use steal, because of its strength and price. The price of scrap steel per pound is pretty cheap at the location where I buy it. I use a blow torch to weld the metal and cut it using a laser cutter that I built using a high powered laser attached to a computer system.
Before I start a project, I draw it on paper it get an idea of how I want it to look. On paper, my resources are unlimited, and the only thing that holds me back is my imagination. Once I figure out what the project will look like, I’ll break it down into smaller pieces and make dimensions for it. This helps me determine how much metal I will need to create each part, and also gives me a rough idea of how long the cutting and welding will take.
After getting some steel and hauling it back home, I started working on my project. I put some pre made shapes into the computer and had the laser cut them out. I use a vice to help me bend the metal, and then start bolting and welding pieces together. Once the pieces are secure, I’ll add more until I have a finished part. I designed each part to connect with the others by using bolts at the joints. If there is a project where I have to use moving joints, I’ll rig something up by using a system made from cables and pulleys to mimic human joints.
I have thought about making my own radio station on the internet for awhile now, but I have been kind of lazy about actually doing it. But no more, I need to get started and actually make sure this happens, because it is something I would really like to do. I think that it would be a great opportunity for me to be creative, and I don’t express my creativity often enough. I have been checking out Shoutcast hosting and I think that I am going to make my radio station on Shoutcast, because that seems like a pretty good service, and besides, there are thousands of other radio stations here. So that means that there is a definite user base for this site and there is a good chance that it will be heard by some people.
Of course, I am not going to just make the radio station and hope someone stumbles onto it. Instead, I am going to try to spread the word myself a bit, and send links to it to some of my friends. I am not going to go overboard promoting it, because I do not want to use up too much of my time promoting it. I would like to spend a lot more time on the actual development of the radio station, as opposed to spending so much time promoting it.
But at the same time, I need to find a healthy balance and promote it some, at least in the beginning, to make sure people know about it. After all, it would make me pretty bummed out if I put all this time and effort into making a radio station and did not have anybody listen to it. I don’t think that will happen, but I need to make sure it doesn’t.
